Insulation is gone from the planetarium

Thursday, May 21th, 2009

The insulation behind the dome has been removed. The ceiling is now bare concrete. The next step is to fix some areas of the concrete dome were water damage has occured. Then, new insulation will be installed. Without the insulation, the room is very echoy.

This is an air duct.

Here, spalling of the concrete has occured. Some rebar is exposed in places.

The control console is currently filled with fans and air ducts.

The electronics rack is covered with visqueen.

This view is looking straight up with a 180° fisheye lens.
